BEIJING, Dec. 18 (Xinhuanet) -- On December 16, Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 2nd World Internet Conference held in Wuzhen Town, eastern Zhejiang province.

His speech promotes global Internet governance system reform, calling for sovereign governments to work together to build a community of common future in cyberspace. China is a major internet nation with a grasp of a strategic vision, openness, and cooperation.

China is a responsible major country that supports peaceful development and win-win cooperation by injecting its cherished philosophy to enhance joint efforts to promote interoperability and cyberspace governance.

Currently, internet development faces increasing challenges on account of regional imbalance, incomplete rules and unreasonable order.

Accordingly, based on mutual respect and trust, countries should strengthen dialogue and cooperation to build a peaceful, safe, open, and cooperative cyberspace, and to establish a multilateral, democratic and transparent global Internet governance system that reaches a greater worldwide consensus.

Nations should join hands for sharing and internet governance, which could solve some of its development difficulties.

Xi's speech highlighted a community of common future in cyberspace that gives stronger guidance to global internet governance.
