The 2021 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit is scheduled to take place from September 26 to 28.
Towards a New Era of Digital Civilization - Building a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace.
The Wuzhen Summit will resume this year, both online and offline. The onsite meeting will continue to be set up in Wuzhen, Zhejiang Province, for the Conference and other related events. More than 1,000 distinguished guests will attend the onsite meeting. For those attending the meeting online, foreign attendees are invited to speak at the Conference via either real-time videoconferencing or pre-recorded videos. At the same time, the 2021 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit will invite over 1,000 online attendees to watch real-time conferences for the first time through the Online Conference Video System. The online live streaming of some sub-forums and important activities of the Conference will be aired on domestic mainstream webcast platforms.
The invitation of participants of the 2021 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit will continue to be honored with high standards, internationality, and strong representation. Nearly 2,000 representatives from domestic and foreign governments, international organizations, industry associations, global leading enterprises, universities and research institutes from over 80 countries and regions, will attend the Conference, online or offline.
(1) Representatives of foreign governments: Dozens of foreign government representatives including ambassadors and ministers from 6 continents will engage in in-depth exchanges on the focal hotspots and common interests of international community.
(2) Representatives of international organizations and industry associations: More than 20 important representatives have confirmed their attendance. The Conference has successfully invited high-level representatives from United Nations organs such as the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), and representatives from international organizations and industry associations including the Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA), the World Economic Forum (WEF), the Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC), the US-China Business Council, AmCham China, the Smart Africa Alliance and the China-EU to hold discussions on global strategies on Internet governance.
(3) Leaders of Chinese and foreign enterprises: The 2021 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit has seen the active participation of attendees at home and abroad since the beginning of the preparations for the Conference. Executives and heads from influential Chinese and overseas companies, will hold discussions on new ideas, new technology and new models of cooperation and development in the Internet industry.
(4) Renowned experts and scholars: top scholars including Turing Award winners, Internet Hall of Fame inductees, and Internet pioneers have confirmed their attendance. They will share their insights on development trends of the cutting-edge Internet technologies. Moreover, the Conference has also attracted nearly 100 celebrities in academia and renowned public figures from civil societies, high-end think tanks, universities and research institutes from across the globe. They will actively contribute advice and suggestions to the development and Internet governance.
