wuzhenwic.org Updated: 2021-11-24

A notice on launching pilots for innovation and fusion application of Internet Protocol Version 6 (IPv6) technology has been jointly issued by several government departments in China, intending to improve IPv6 deployment and application levels.

The plan clarifies that IPv6 technology innovation and fusion application pilots are expected to achieve significant results by the end of 2023. Key innovation breakthroughs are anticipated in technology, application, service and management to improve the IPv6 system and to help form a technological innovation ecosystem.

Networks, platforms, applications and terminals will be the first part to undergo functional upgrading for IPv6, and will gain duplicable experience in IPv6-based network renovation and construction, technological fusion application and industrial ecology cultivation, laying a foundation for nationwide IPv6 deployment and application.

Next, the first pilot projects and cities for IPv6 technology will be confirmed through expert assessment.
