2014 WIC Overview


The 1st World Internet Conference, hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the Zhejiang Provincial People's Government, took place Nov 19-21, in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province.

It attracted more than 1,000 Internet titans from more than 100 countries and regions, making it one of the largest events ever held at the highest level in the Internet field.

With a theme of "An Interconnected World Shared and Governed by All -- Building a Cyberspace Community of Shared Destiny", the event, held annually, is intended to help build a cyberspace community with a consensual shared destiny and an ethic of respecting differences. Its focus is on sharing both development and risks in an international world, with new opportunities through Internet development accessible to more countries.
