President Xi Jinping’s keynote speech at Wednesday’s 2nd World Internet Conference has won acclaims from honorable guests, according to the website of China Central Television.
The guests echoed Xi’s five-point proposal on international cyberspace cooperation and the Internet governance.
Dmitry Medvedev (Russian Prime Minister): There should be international rules to regulate the Internet, which is prone to crimes and illegal monitoring.
Wu Hongbo (under-secretary-general for the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs): China’s Internet governance efforts are accepted by the international community.
Temir Sariyev (Kyrgyzstan's Prime Minister): The 2nd WIC is good for the development of the global Internet and addressing related issues.
Robert Kahn (famous computer scientist): The five-point proposal by Xi is of great significance.
Zhao Houlin (secretary-general of the International Telecommunication Union): I believe that by participating at the WIC, there will be more cooperation between China and the ITU.
Ghanim Taha Ahmed Al-Shibli (ambassador of the League of Arab States): I think Xi’s speech is of international perspective.
