Business leaders look into the future of intelligent manufacturing

Zhang, citing Haier as an example, explained how a traditional enterprise can transform into an Internet enterprise during the Internet Plus sub forum of the Second World Internet Conference on Thursday.

"An enterprise is just like a computer. With access to Internet, it will become omnipotent; otherwise it will accomplish nothing. Therefore, the enterprises should take advantage of the various resources on Internet and open up themselves. You can grow with Internet. "

"In terms of industrial Internet and enterprise Internet, we are now standing on the same starting line with competitors all around the world. This is both a huge challenge and a great opportunity.

Li urged the government to set up a technical route and time node for driverless cars and intelligent interconnection during the Internet Plus sub forum of the Second World Internet Conference on Thursday.

"The automotive industry is entering into a new phase of joining forces with the Internet. In the future, hands and feet will not be necessary to drive, which will bring fundamental changes in automobiles,” Li said

"Geely Group aims to become the top 10 automakers in the world. Human-computer interaction and autopilot are basic factors for intelligent Internet autos. The Volvo brand under Geely Group is in cooperation with Chinese Internet companies, including Baidu and Gaode."

Intelligent manufacturing is the direction for the upgrading of traditional manufacturing industry and also helps manufacturing companies stay competitive, said Wang Haibin, senior vice-president and chief process information officer of SANY Group during the Internet Plus sub forum of the Second World Internet Conference on Thursday.

An intelligent manufacturing company will have its own big data system, which pools all information from the research and development process, production process, quality control process as well as suppliers and customers, said Wang.

Take Siemens plant in Germany as an example, we now manufacture more than 1,000 varieties of products and record daily more than 5,000 manufacturing data, said Wang. Without large-scale expansion of production workshops, the plant saw both remark growth for its business volume and also number of clients in the past three decades thanks to intelligent manufacturing.

He suggested that the quality of products should never be ignored when talking about Industry 4.0 and Internet big data.

Many Chinese tourists buy toilet lids in Japan while Japan asked for help from SANY Group through diplomatic channel after Fukushima nuclear crisis. What can we learn from this? With the development of consumption Internet, information becomes more transparent and logistics more advanced. This creates worldwide Matthew Effect for good products. The trend will be further strengthened in Internet marketing.

As China's Internet continue to develop at a high speed, we, as manufacturers, should produce products with global competitiveness in the new environment where information is transparent and global reach easily achieved.
