Press conference of 3rd World Internet Conference held in Beijing

The State Council Information Office (SCIO) held a press conference on the 3rd World Internet Conference on Oct 12, in Beijing.

Ren Xianliang, deputy head of the Cyberspace Administration of China, Ge Huijun, director of the publicity department of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Lu Yuedong, the Secretary of the Tongxiang Municipal Committee delivered speeches and answered questions from the press.

Lu confirmed that the third World Internet Conference, themed "Innovation-driven Internet Development for the Benefit of All – Building a Community of Common Future in Cyberspace", will take place in Wuzhen, Tongxiang of Zhejiang province from Nov 16 to 18. President Xi Jinping will make an important video speech to the conference and Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, will attend in person and deliver an address.

It is expecting over 1200 people from government, international organizations, enterprises and technology groups from around the world will take part. 

This year's conference will focus on five sectors: the Internet economy, Internet innovation, Internet culture, cyberspace governance and global Internet cooperation, and will offer sixteen sub-forums on 20 topics.

Preparations for the Conference are well advanced.
