The fifth World Internet Conference (WIC) was held from Nov 7 to 9 in the river town of Wuzhen, East China's Zhejiang province.

The event was co-hosted by the Cyberspace Administration of China and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province.

Themed around "Creating a Digital World for Mutual Trust and Collective Governance - Towards a Community with a Shared Future in Cyberspace," the summit focused on five main themes: innovation-driven development, universal security, openness and inclusiveness, pursuit of a better life, and common prosperity.

More than 1,500 governmental delegates, international organization representatives, leading internet entrepreneurs, and experts from all around the globe were invited to participate in it.

A total of 19 sub-forums were held, revolving around the five themes of "innovation-driven development," "universal security," "openness and inclusiveness," "in pursuit of a better life," and "common prosperity."

Topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), 5G, and the digital Silk Road were covered in the sub-forums, with guests contributing their views on how to create a peaceful, secure, open, and cooperative cyberspace, as well as how to set up a multilateral, democratic, and transparent global internet governance system.
