Message from Cristiano Amon, president and CEO of Qualcomm, to 2021 World Internet Conference

Cristiano Amon, president and CEO of Qualcomm, delivered a speech at the 2021 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit held from Sept 26 to 28 in East China's Zhejiang province.

In his speech, he affirmed the key role that the convergence of ultra-fast 5G connectivity high-performance, low-power computing and on-device AI technologies is playing in accelerating industrial development, digitalization and economic growth.

He also mentioned China's efforts to promote innovation and said Qualcomm is working with Chinese companies across many industries and advancing IoT, manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture and logistics in Chinese enterprises through projects like the "5G IoT Innovation Initiative".

According to him, the 5G value chain in China is anticipated to reach nearly 10 billion yuan ($1.57 billion) in gross output and support almost 13 million jobs by 2035.

He closed his speech by saying that great things can be achieved based on innovation through cooperation between US and Chinese companies.
