The Internet will facilitate China’s drive to achieve national rejuvenation.
The Internet has connected the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and is a new force driving economic growth and promoting exchange, said a senior Chinese cyber official at a forum of the 2nd World Internet Conference (WIC) on Dec. 16.
Openness and sharing is in the gene of Internet. China is using Internet to promote a more modern economy, a more open society and a more enlightened politics.
President Xi Jinping on Wednesday said that China was driven to ensure the Internet not only benefited the Chinese people but also the wider world.
President Xi Jinping said at the opening ceremony of the 2nd World Internet Conference, on Wednesday, Dec 16, that in the overall management of cyberspace there needs to be a proper balance in "freedom" and "order".
Xi said China will use the Internet to benefit its society and people, but will also properly manage the industry in accordance with relevant laws. He made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the second World Internet Conference (WIC).
